The Class Workbook - 2009
This class will help you "read" landscapes
while on the train, bus, boat and in the field by associating visual information
from your direct observation with measured secondary data on the local conditions
through which we pass. The class workbook contains:
- a complete reference atlas created
especially for the trip. One map set will illustrate both the populated
places and the physical features of the landscape along the route. Maps
feature a detailed latitude and longitude grid for easy place identification
in conjunction with a hand-held GPS unit.
- Small group exercises to be completed
with your colleagues
- "Sense
of Place" exercises to help you to experience the landscapes we
visit by tapping both your sensory and emotional states
